Hey, I'd like to apologize, you did have everything correct and I jumped to conclusions. I was wrong and I am sorry for being a jerk in your comments section. I was able to get my screen to turn on but it keeps flashing to pink and the menu selector goes crazy and pushes settings on its own. Time to open it up again….
With some of the test points and via's, I've found that you can lightly scratch the surface to help the solder flow onto them. Some of mine in the past have had a solder mask layer over them.
That laminated screen can fit in any shell?
Questions: Can I cut off the unselected ribbon that connects to the motherboard? Also funny playing ips 3.0 came with a black foam, will I be using it?
Absolute love this video and all the struggles 🤣 dooouuugghh
How long does battery life last on those screens?
Does anyone know of any GBA SP screen mod with grids?
What is your oppinion on the new ips V5 display (720×480) for gba ?
1:25 is that Homer's voice?
You are flowing so much solder on it you don’t need that much.
What flashcard is that?
Is it normal for a little light to be seen in the upper left corner where the casing is? That happens to me in mine
Should put a link for these mods in the description
The reason you were having a difficult time soldering is because you didn't use flux.
you need to heat the pad for the solder to stick brother
You need to change that soldering iron tip as the tip isn't grabbing the solder like it should.
Ideally the solder ball should stick to the tip not fall off like it is.
Also try hold the tip on the pad then feed the solder to the iron that'll make your life 100x easier.
my d pad is stiff but it was fine in the original shell what could be wrong ?
omg what has that iron gone through but all good if it works it works
Try heating the contact up with thr iron before adding solder
Can you use the original shell?
Hey man, i did the same mod to my gba. I just wonder why the settings go nuts and change on their own. I am able to switch between the settings but as i close them the levels change. The touch function isn‘t very smooth either.. did i wreck it allready, or just some noob mistake?
Btw wonderful mod you got there!
how to make the menu screen like yours? the one have icons.
Great video! I have a question, is it necessarily to solder in order for the IPS screen to work?
Thank you but when you do not have solder machine, what can you buy on the web to turn your original gba to a ips v3 ? (I need to buy the required sized screen shell)
Flux dude lol. Will change your life.
What GBA Cartridge are you using? Can you give me a link for buying it?
